Spring - Fall Positions:

Beekeeper Assistant:
   
1 full-time
Intelligent and motivated individuals.

While experience is an asset,  we are willing to train.

Ability to work around bees. We can give you tips, but you will have to face the fear yourself.

Duties include checking and working hives, unwrapping hives, moving hives, adding boxes, raising queens, loading & unloading trucks, stripping & extracting honey, washing equipment, cleaning the honey house, feeding hives, wrapping hives.  Could be operating a hydraulic lift to move honey boxes or putting empty boxes onto the hives.  The job could include fencing, working with wood and building equipment as well.

Most of the time will be spent outside helping with the hives with a crew of 2-3 others. However, this job will be flexible, filling spots as needed.

This job will be 5 days/week.  The season could start sometime in April and go until November or it could be shortened to work for a university student.  It will depend on the successful candidate and the weather.
Salary: $15-20/hour.  The hourly rate will be adjusted accordingly and retroactively paid to your starting date.

Spring - Summer or Fall Positions:
May to September

Beeyard and Fence Maintenance position:

2-4 days/week
Intelligent, reliable and motivated individuals.

While experience is an asset,  we are willing to train.

Driver's license.
Job will include some or all of the following:
  • lawn mowing beeyards
  • maintaining electric fences
  • mowing fencelines
  • maintaining equipment
  • driving a standard transmission
  • driving a truck and trailer
  • loading and unloading trailer
  • many more small tasks
Salary: $15/hour is where you start until we see your work ethic.  The hourly rate will be adjusted accordingly and retroactively paid to your starting date. This is a part-time position that can have flexible hours that you plan around your schedule and the weather as long as the work gets done.

Summer Positions:
July - August

Field positions:

    2 full-time

Honeyhouse Positions:

    3 full-time 

Intelligent and motivated individuals.

While experience is an asset,  we are willing to train.

Job will include some or all of the following:
  • stripping honey
  • extracting honey
  • washing equipment
  • cleaning  honey house
  • loading and unloading trucks
  • storing equipment
  • lawn mowing beeyards
  • many more small tasks

 
Salary: Minimum wage is where you start until we see your work ethic.  The hourly rate will be adjusted accordingly and retroactively paid to your starting date.

Accomodations: We will help you find accomodations while you are working at Pedersen Apiaries or you can put a camper in our main yard.

  • making pollen supplement
  • sanding and painting supers
  • cutting wood
We are willing to train in beekeeping skills and provide you with room and board.
